Algusto Mexican Restaurant opened November 2002 in Tampa, Florida and since then, it has been categorized as the healthiest, most authentic Mexican Restaurant in the Tampa Bay area without sacrificing taste!

Algusto means "at your taste". Its name is derived from "AL" short for Alberto (founder's name) and "GUSTO", which means taste. In Algusto's Logo, the letters "US" are blue and red representing the United States. The salt and pepper shakers are green, red and white, representing the Mexican flag. The fifty dots from each shaker represent the 50 states of the United States. The seasoning from the shakers represents the "sprinkling Mexican flavors" on our soil. All these items lay on top of a tortilla, symbolic to a very important part of our cuisine.

Algusto is proud to be part of the Better Business Bureau, the Small National Business Association and the Chamber of Commerce. Alberto Alejandro Morillo, current owner or Algusto Mexican Restaurant has successfully combined his experience and ideas to create Algusto, a unique concept within the American restaurant industry designed to delight professionals and families alike. Alberto has lived in several locations throughout the US, and has been exposed to the cuisines of diverse countries by traveling throughout Europe, Asia, North, Central and South America.

Alberto graduated with a degree of Business Administration and has many years of experience in International Commerce, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Human Relations and customer service. He possesses 18 years within the Healthcare Industry, promoting health and prevention in the US territory, as well as in Mexico and Canada. Alberto has been recognized as Businessman of the Year by prestigious business magazines.

Today, he remains Algusto's General Manager, he is Certified National Kitchen Manager and with no doubt represents the concept of Algusto: successful with national and international recognition. Algusto is proud to have Gerardo Gutierrez as Chef. Chef Gerardo brings many years of experience within the restaurant industry. He is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico and has been the general manager of prestigious restaurants throughout both, Mexico and the US.
